Welcome to Jubilee's Creative Writers Blog

When you are in the presence of God are you compelled to write? Do you express your worship through words? God has a lot to say and he wants to use His people to say it. Writing is a quiet strength. It releases power without saying a word. I want to invite you to 'write it out' on our writers blog. We want to hear what you hear when you worship.--Michelle Crawford Jubilee Creative Writers

My church has left it’s first love.
But I am coming to re-unite them with a passion and a zeal.
I am coming to awaken their hearts.
I am coming once again to fan the flame.
My church shall hear my cry and they shall weep with me.
My church shall be broken for the hopeless—even those within their midst.

For my bride has turned her heart, but I shall recapture it.
I have redeemed her heart with the blood of my Son
What more shall I give?
I will stain her doorway with mercy
and remind her once again that I am her beloved
and she is mine.

Our time is near; that we shall be united forever.
I long for you earnestly but salvation’s work is not done for you.
So, today I renew by blood covenant with you.
I will put you in remembrance of my unfailing love
Today I am coming to re-establish your purpose in the earth.
Will you renew your vows to me?
Will you bleed for my people the way that my son has bled for you?
Will you be my hands and feet until salvation’s work is done?—that my wait can be over and I can come for my bride.

Return, my bride—my church,
return the thoughts of your heart back to me.
This is my plea; renew your promise. Set your affections on me.
Labor for the soul of man.
Bleed for their redemption the way that my Son has bled for yours.
Be resurrected in your love and in your deeds.
--Says the Lord.

Living in 'the real'

Deep down on the inside of me

There is a woman
who wants to be free

To tap dance in the puddles
that linger after the rain

To cry when it hurts
and unmask my pain

To laugh out loud
until I can't stand it

And hold on to the moments
I once took for granted

And believe in a dream
no matter how big it may seem

Lord, help me be the 'real me'!

God is Love.

As a writer I have learned to appreciate the art of expression. My greatest writings are inspired by a dancer's motions, an artist's color strokes, and a musician's musical notes. When I begin to write what I see, I try to capture the nature of the expression and it always leads back to love. Artist who do what they do well, are inspired by the love of it. In this I am always reminded that the purity and the power of God leads to the simplicity of love, but this love can not be truly captured or expressed because we can never fully comprehend it. It amazes me that God, in all his majesty and splendor and all his power, describes himself in one word... 'love'.

In all that we aspire to do, I believe that our greatest accomplishment is love. When my evil disposition can express a good deed, and my selfish nature can give to others, I am amazed at love's ability to rule in the hardest places. With that said, I understand that walking in this kind of love takes a supernatural ability that is beyond me. So my prayer each day is for God to help me to love the way He loves-where nothing that others do can make me love them less.

Life is a dream.

I read a quote today by a 5th grader that said...'Life is a dream. Heaven is reality. I am living the dream...' Such a profound quote reminds me of the comparison of the vapor of my days and the eternal life that is unending. It turns my heart away from the heaviness of the day and I become consumed with a place where time does not exist. As believers we don't talk much about heaven anymore because we are so taken by life's cares. Our focus is on the dream we live instead of the reality of heaven. God never sees things the way we do. His perspective is eternal. When He looks at our lives, I believe that He sees a series of valuable moments. It's like those long conversations with your new love that seemed to make time stand still. Or the loving look at your beautiful daughter preparing for her first date feeling like it was only yesterday when you held her in your arms. Or a moment in God's presence that lives in my heart forever.

One day time will stand still. One day a valuable moment will take us away to a place called eternity. One day we will wake up from life and open our eyes in reality...Heaven is our reality!

The presence of God is priceless
Be it corporate or private
wether it is reaching the masses
or intimately touching my soul

It is the place where
My failures fade away
And my trophies have no glory
Where my pride is uncovered
And my humanity is revealed

The presence of God is priceless

Inspired...

The Live Art at Jubilee painted during our worship service often times inspries written worship.

(Painting by Cheryl Foster)

God, you have ignited a fire in me

That can not be quenched

Like a candle

I will burn in the darkest places

Though I may be only one flame

I will let the light of Your love shine

For all the world to see

Twenty-10-'TheYear of the Writers'

Open your journals and pull out those pens...God is talking without saying it out loud! Poetry, songs, and stories; plays, skits, and books! Oh My!
You can tell everyone you heard it on our blog first, Twenty10 is going to be the year of the writers. Written worship will reach a new level and you need to be a part of it! So go ahead and just write it out.
Nothing leaves a legacy like a book. In God's word, we are able to touch the pages that have captured history because the scribes of their day were careful to write about it. In a time where there is so much confusion we need the new age scribes to take their place and begin to write out today's revelation on the pages of tomorrow's books. Take responsibility for the next generation. What will you do so that they will be able to grab hold to something tangible it in their quest for the real truth. Will you be an end time scribe? Turn the page on all of your excuses and write a new chapter. Commit to using your gift to leave a legacy this year.
